The Kiwanis Club of Fort LeBoeuf and the Waterford Lions Club came together for a major community service effort. Volunteers from the clubs along with members of Boy Scout Troop 58, the Fort LeBoeuf High School Leo Club, and friends and family members tackled nine (9) projects throughout the Waterford and Summit areas. Most of the work was completed on July 10th and 11th.
The community projects included repairing, cleaning, and painting the benches in the Gazebo Park in Waterford; building two new flower planters, weeding existing flower beds, and planting new flowers at the Waterford Fairgrounds; and building a new flower planter at the base of the sign near the boat launch area at Lake LeBoeuf.
Six additional projects for private residents were also completed. These projects included miscellaneous yard work, weeding, planting, spreading mulch, and minor repairs like installing a handrail, exterior window coverings, gutter cleaning, and light demo. Projects like these are very much appreciated by our “more experienced” members of our community.
In all, 34 volunteers donated over 280 hours in service to their communities and EL Heard & Son donated some materials to help defray the costs to the clubs.
